The Quality Inn, Santee, SC

For all those interested, as of July 10th, 2006 the Quality Inn was a fine, upstanding establishment with a courteous staff and a prime location directly off the exit. I’d recommend it to any weary traveler. There’s some pics of the room after the jump.

The TV and the Wall

Perhaps the baggage displayed in this photo seems unremarkable. You’re very wrong. This is what we brang inside for our 10 hour stopover in Santee, SC. There’s 5 pieces of luggage in the picture and there’s a 6th at the bottom right of the frame. There were more. Oh, and the wedding dress. And our minivan was still full, floor to ceiling. We had a lot of stuff.

The cooler was not for drinks. It was for candles that were part of the wedding favors. It was not enough that they were in a cooler and inside an air-conditioned room. My lovely wife-to-be had me fill the sink up with ice and then stick the icepacks in said ice so they would keep the cooler cool in our air conditioned car.

I don’t know why I didn’t take this as a sign to run.

The Beds

Here’s our beds. This is where we did things.

The hotel itself was actually quite nice. The pool was closed for renovations but that was the only thing wrong with it. It’s right off the exit, but EVERYTHING is right off the exit. If you go two blocks in either direction all that remains of civilization are abandoned hunter-gatherer camps.
